Berean Standard Bible
7Then the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned by speaking against the LORD and against you. Intercede with the LORD so He will take the snakes away from us.” So Moses interceded for the people.
The Bronze Snake on the Pole
The people came to Moses and said, "We have sinned, for we have spoken against Jehovah and against you. Pray to Jehovah that he remove the serpent from us." And Moses prayed on behalf of the people.
The verb דִבַּרְנוּ (dibbarnū) carries the preposition בְּ (be), which here conveys speaking against rather than merely speaking about — the people acknowledge their words were acts of opposition toward Jehovah and Moses. הִתְפַּלֵּל (hitpallēl) is the reflexive-intensive form of prayer, rendered simply as "pray" in natural English. וְיָסֵר (weyāsēr) is a jussive form — "that he remove" — conveying a request rather than a command, preserved here accordingly.

King James Version
7Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.
