Berean Standard Bible
16For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him.
Because in him all things were created — in the heavens and on the earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or lordships or rulers or authorities — all things have been created through him and for him.
The verse uses two distinct prepositions: *ἐν αὐτῷ* (in him) and *διʼ αὐτοῦ* (through him), with a third *εἰς αὐτόν* (for him / unto him). "Lordships" renders *κυριότητες* (from *kyrios*) more literally than the conventional "dominions," preserving the sense of ranked sovereign powers. The phrase *εἰς αὐτόν* is translated "for him" indicating purpose or goal, not merely direction — all things were created with him as the intended focus or aim.

He created everything that people can see, and also everything which is in heaven that people cannot see. In particular, his Son created all ranks of important spirit beings. And his Son ranks above everything, because God by the work of had his Son, and because by his Son all things were created {because God had his Son create everything} in order that everything might praise his Son,
